168 metres: The OpernTurm – a high rise complex with 42 floors in Frankfurt/Main
After a construction period of 25 months the roofing ceremony of the OpernTurm took place as scheduled on February 6, 2009.
Jerry Speyer – chairman and Co-CEO of Tishman Speyer Properties, the project developer - the responsible architect Professor Christoph Mäckler, and Lord Mayor of Frankfurt Petra Roth celebrated the erection of the building together with the project team. They highly valued the high rise building as object of prestige not only for the city of Frankfurt/Main but for the whole real estate market.
From today on the Opernplatz square has a new appearance: Next to the Old Opera, which is the only preserved representative location dating from the 19th century in Frankfurt, the new 42 storey building is a venerable neighbor with its six storey perimeter block development and a magnificent virgin stone faҫade. It was planned and erected as an energy-efficient and sustainable building according to the Leed-Gold standard and is an office complex with an advanced standard of equipment.
In 2006 SMV was charged with quantity surveying, claim management, and time scheduling and controlling. Thanks to the precise controlling of the SMV project managers the OpernTurm was erected within the planned construction period of 25 months, which was one of the main targets of the client. Additionally the budget was optimized and strictly kept.
