HOUSE OF NON-PROFIT JOURNALISM – BERLIN

The house will be a place that processes information and knowledge in the digital age, thus creating access to education and democracy. It is a lively house where established editorial teams as well as founding teams for new publication formats come together. Freelance journalists have a place to work and network here. The house becomes a crystallization point for journalistic innovations. It promotes freedom of opinion and information in Europe.

Directly on Hermannstasse in Berlin-Neukoelln, together with Haus Spore Initiative, a building ensemble is being created that mediates between the closed perimeter block development and the open space of the former St. Thomas churchyard. The two- to five-story building includes various types of offices, a public café and lounge area on the first floor, non-public audio and video studios, and seminar rooms. The top floor will include working studios. The basement will provide the necessary ancillary spaces.
