NEW WORK AND TRADITIONAL VALUES. TOOLS AND METHODS OF NEXT LEVEL PROJECT MANAGEMENT, COMMITMENT AS EVER. BIM, LEAN, CLOUD AND H.U.M.A.N. SMV COLOGNE.

“Gero Weitz moves. He touches. He connects. Digital and analog. Visionary planning and pragmatic implementation. He brings the most diverse characters with often divergent personal interests together, building a team with a common goal. And it feels like all he needs for that is his Apple Watch and his charm.”

Christian Wernicke knows Gero Weitz

Moving. The conversation with Gero Weitz takes some time, but has no dull moments. It is fun to philosophize with him, to discuss, to wander off, to simply listen to him. Paying attention not only to what he says, but how he says it; and also to how he feels about it. He clearly admires the (quote) "irrepressible passion to improve" of a Steve Jobs, is inspired by his "striving for beautiful perfectionism". Chuckling, he tells the anecdote in which Steve sinks an iPod prototype in an aquarium to prove, with the help of the escaping air bubbles, that it is still possible to build it smaller. Boom.

Nothing is impossible. That's what the Apple founder stood for; that's how Gero Weitz sees it. But at the same time, he doesn't. He is a visionary, yes, but also a pragmatist. Is that an oxymoron? More like the perfect shade of gray. He embarks on an excursion into quantum, beaming, space bending and time travel, has some valid things to say about this as well, but quickly comes back to the bottom of what is feasible here and now. He is no "crazy scientist in a digital ivory tower blowing himself up in the end".

He wants to implement, to create results. The best possible results. Smart buildings, "powerful architecture." Not on his own and certainly not top down. Gero Weitz wants to move people - to accomplishments they themselves did not think they were capable of. He inspires, paves the way, creates the framework: "culture and commitment" meets methods and processes, tools and technologies of modern project management. Mindless procedures are digitized, automated and efficiently optimized. Space for creativity, talent and vision is created; enthusiasm for the team, for the common goal, can unfold.

All of this, the New Work philosophy, methods such as BIM and LEAN pursue a clear mission: to transform ambitious visions into smart projects and ultimately into sustainable valuable real estate. To make a contribution to society. And to enjoy the shared journey along the way.

Gero Weitz is the perfect companion on this mission: a computer nerd who started early to secure his life(s) at Counterstrike LAN parties by scripting his own algorithms and shortcuts; computer scientist and construction engineer; good friend and loving family man. Cyber Guy and grounded human being.
