PUlse Berlin

Pulse Berlin is the first cradle to cradle© inspired office building in Berlin. All materials, constructions, components and services are designed to perform their function durably, to be easy to handle and to retain the required qualities over the long term.

The centerpiece of the 7-story office building with underground parking is the large atrium with its greened areas (moss fields on the walls) and the unique indoor climate. A large staircase made of wood with integrated seating, communication and work areas was installed in the atrium.

The building is supplied with cooling and heating by a CHP unit from GASAG, a peak load boiler, a heat pump and cooling systems as well as an exhaust gas system, and also via probes for geothermal energy. In the offices, the suspended metal ceiling was installed as a linear grid heating-cooling ceiling, with perforations for acoustic effectiveness through fleece overlay.

A raised floor was installed in the corridor areas and a cavity floor in the office and ancillary areas. The building was equipped with a curtained resp. elemental facade and as a special design element for horizontal and vertical structuring a front shell of aluminum elements as well as cantilevered glass boxes.

Partial areas of the rising facade were designed with a greening system. The vertical technical enclosure on the roof is also covered with greenery. The SemperGreenwall is equipped with a plant care system. The plants regularly receive the optimal amount of water and the required nutrients via a fully automatic watering system. The flexipanel is covered with a carefully selected mix of different plant varieties, whereby the planting is adapted to the conditions and climate.
