SONY CENTER IN NEW SPLENDOR

The Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin is about to undergo extensive modernization with SMV handling the project management. The owner Oxford Properties Group will invest around 200 million euros in a modernization of the eight buildings under the distinctive tent roof.  Initial work has already begun, with the majority to be completed by the end of 2023 and further refurbishments to follow until around 2025.

The goal is to maintain the sophisticated, modern workspace that also reflects Berlin's culture and history, while respecting the city's changes and future. The ambition for the Sony Center is for it to become a global landmark that reflects and reinforces what the dynamic, new Berlin stands for.

The project is set up as a multi-project. The office areas in the Bahn Tower are being redesigned for Deutsche Bahn in line with current usage requirements. In the Forum, the landscaping will be completely remodeled. The commercial areas will be supplemented with new and innovative gastronomy and activity areas. The Sony Center is to become established as an attraction for tourists, as well as Berlin residents.
